Updates About Our Practice

April 5, 2023
Dr. Dan and Dr. Taylor’s little baby Jackson has decided to share his mom with others again. She will be back working part-time after having taken her maternity leave earlier this year. Jackson was born on 12/1/22 and his tooth “P” has already started to erupt with “O” just making an appearance today. Those are the lower central incisors that are the first baby teeth to erupt in the mouth. Most babies starting teething at 6 months, but Jackson was so excited to see the dentist, AKA “Mom” or “Dad”, that he started teething a week before 4 months!

We have very exciting news! A third dentist has been added to our practice. We are pleased to introduce Dr. Taylor Whittaker. She has been practicing in the Spokane area for the past 2 years and has now begun her work here at Whittaker Family Dentistry.
She is the third Whittaker Dentist in the area now and she is incredible! She has a lot of experience with children and is efficient, meticulous, and VERY gentle. She cares about her patients and hopes to continue providing patient centered care.
What continues to make our practice so special is that it will continue to be a true Family Practice. Dr. Taylor Whittaker is Dr. Dan Whittaker’s wife and Dr. Earl Whittaker’s daughter in law. There are days during the week when 5 members of the Whittaker family are working the office now which is very special.
Please welcome Taylor to the office at your next appointment! She brings a great perspective to the office and will continue to provide excellent and ethical dental care to the Spokane community.

He is looking forward to continuing to work with all of the amazing patients at our practice. He has done a great job of upholding the standards set forth by his father Earl Whittaker and Grandfather Walter Paul Whittaker. He is even more committed now to providing honest and effective dentistry to those who need it.

We are now offering full Zirconia crowns. Zirconia is a metal oxide material that has unique characteristics allowing us to offer the white and esthetic appearance of ceramic with the toughness of a metal. Zirconia is considered to be in the family of titanium metals and as such is tough and durable, even for posterior crowns.
Please ask us about this new material, one of the newest available in dentistry today. If you have crowns that are too dark or have fractured, this may be the best choice for you! Whittaker Family Dentistry is always there to provide the services that patients want and need!

Dr. Daniel Whittaker has officially started working at Whittaker Family Dentistry. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry and was part of the first class ever to have their licensing exam and graduation ceremony cancelled. Luckily, Dr. Whittaker was able to take his licensing exam in June after it had been postponed due to COVID-19 from its original date in March. He has been looking forward to starting his career for a while, and feels extremely blessed to have been able to receive his dental license when many of the other members of the dental Class of 2020 around the country have not been able to do so.
While in school, Dr. Whittaker was nicknamed “Dan Dan the denture man!” as he took on more denture cases during his third year than anyone in his class. He also had thought about pursuing oral surgery early on, before deciding his dream was to practice general dentistry with his father. Dr. Whittaker excelled at the University of Washington’s restorative, endodontics, and oral surgery clinics. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and, like his father, takes a conservative approach to treatment planning and diagnosing.
Please join us in welcoming out newest doctor!
